I’m Alexis, co-founder of the The Historic Bella Vista Project.

When I embarked upon the project that resulted in the founding of Cincinnati’s 25th historic district, Historic Bella Vista, I had little preservation experience. But moved by the desire to preserve the place I lived and loved, I worked for two years documenting homes, researching, building relationships, talking to neighbors, and working through the historic designation process. Uncertainty, imposter syndrome, and fatigue were frequent companions. But through the process, I became certain that anyone with determination can do the work of saving the places we love.
